Swingly is a golf swing coach. This page explains what leaves your phone when you use it, who processes it, and what stays on your device. Questions: support@swingly.golf.

Your video stays on your device

Swingly finds your body positions in the video on your phone. The video file itself is never uploaded.

What we send to give you a lesson

To write your lesson and answer your questions, Swingly sends:

  • About 40 to 60 still images from your swing, cropped to you.
  • Measurements of your body movement, and the club you selected.
  • Your recent lesson summaries and the short coaching file Swingly keeps about your swing, so the coach can follow your progress.
  • Notes from your in-person coach, if you added them.
  • The questions you type.

This goes to our server, which passes it to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model that writes the lesson. Our server does not save it. Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms and privacy policy.

Coach voice

When you tap “Talk me through it”, the lines the coach will say (text only) may be sent to ElevenLabs to turn them into speech. If that service isn’t available, your phone’s built-in voice reads them instead and nothing is sent. See the ElevenLabs privacy policy.

Swing-tracking numbers

After each analysis, Swingly sends the positions of a few body points (wrists, shoulders, hips and nose) over the course of the swing to our server. These are numbers only, not images. We use them to improve how Swingly finds your swing in a video. They appear in our server logs, which our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps only for a short time.

When you flag a lesson

If you tap “Flag for developer”, Swingly sends that lesson’s conversation text, measurements and swing-tracking numbers to our server logs so we can look into it. It also opens your phone’s share sheet, where you choose whether to send anything else, and to whom.

Stored only on your device

Your first name, lessons, swing history, four still images per saved swing, your coaching file, your in-person coach’s notes, your handedness setting and your invite code are stored on your phone. Deleting the app (or clearing this website’s data in your browser) deletes them.

What we don’t do

  • No accounts and no passwords.
  • No advertising, and no advertising or analytics trackers.
  • We don’t sell or share your information for marketing.

Technical information

Like any website, our server receives your IP address with each request. We use it only to limit how many requests one device can make in a short time.

Children

Swingly isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change what Swingly sends or stores, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
